Can I be honest here for a minute? I am tired, like bone weary, sleep isn’t fixing it tired. And as soon as I feel like that I know, something needs to change.
So I’m going back to basics and I’m bringing you with me. This isn’t a reset or a life overhaul. It’s the simple things I come back to time and time again and where I start with all my clients. With you’re pregnant, postpartum or just in need of a boost, this one’s for you.
- Eat something warm first thing – I LOVE to start my day with chicken bone broth. It’s nourishing, protein rich and a brilliant start of the day. Bonus points if you have this before your coffee. Your blood sugar will thank you too.
- Prioritise drinking water and eating balanced meals over anything else. If I can only do one thing in my lunch break, it’s going to be eating protein, fibre and healthy fats.
- Walking for 15 minutes after eating. I’m pulling back on my intense workouts for now as I focus on recalibrating/rebalancing. But walking at least 15 minutes after eating will do wonders for your blood sugar, mindset and energy.
- Stop count anything – macros, calories, steps. Just focus on nourishing your heart and soul too. Perfect doesn’t exist, numbers don’t mean anything. Focus on how you feel instead.
- 1 teaspoons of seeds a day – maybe this on is a little niche. But pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds and flaxseeds are amazingly nutrient dense, great for your hormone and full of iron, zinc and healthy fats. Sprinkle on your breakfast or add chia seeds to your water.
- Rest – right now rest is a priority. You can’t pour from an empty cup and allll those other cliches right?! Actually sometimes you need to just stop.
The little things can really add up and implementing these 6 tips in a slow and mindful way can make allll the difference.
