I love to eat…

Someone I admire recently told me to write from the heart…And with that in mind, I wanted to talk a little about my “why” behind Bloom and Nourish and how I ended up here today.
I’ve always had an interest in nutrition and wellness. I LOVE TO EAT.
I’m intrigued in how what we eat can affect how we feel. Or how certain foods have certain nutrients and their support for you (turkey and tryptophan sticks with me, and the importance of it…one for another day!) food be thy medicine and all that! And then I was pregnant. And CRAVING. But also severely repulsed by certain foods. And in crept the terrible sugar obsession. Or maybe even as far as calling it a sugar addiction. Everything I believed and knew went out the window. And pregnancy hormones… hello! Who on Earth was this sugar monster crying at all sorts and unable to get comfortable enough to sleep. My daughter was born in 2020 (enough said…) it was tough and I was lonely. Again. Queue the binge eating, convenience food. And I just couldn’t put my finger on it. Hindsight is a beautiful thing isn’t it?! I can see now, I needed a holistic approach – good sleep, mindful exercise, kindness and compassion to myself and whole foods. Cue me speaking with a nutritionist and nutritionist friends. And here we are. A passion was born! We’re taught so basically and rudimentary in biology but women’s biology is complex and intricate. What we eat does indeed affect us. But it’s more than that. And that’s who I am and what I do, I want to support you in achieving the same. Judgement free and from all angles. Nothing is too big or too small! I’ve most been there. I’ve been at the low, the loss, the vulnerability, the it’s all to much.
My approach is to be honest and start small. Yes. That’s a promise. I’ll only ever make it manageable for you and work with you, not against you. Can you make the smallest swap or improvement….that’s a win. We’re in it together and you’re never alone!
